Brenda Laurenza is a co-founder and the President of Bald Hill Builders. Brenda started working in construction in her youth by assisting her father in the family business with such tasks as cutting tiles and grouting floors. In addition to helping at client sites, Brenda did much of the accounting and bookkeeping for the family business through her high school and college years. Upon graduating from college, Brenda worked as a teacher and a tour guide in Italy for several years, helping her reconnect to her family’s roots. Upon her return to the United States, she reconnected to her construction roots by going to work for Shawmut Design and Construction for 3 years and then moving on to Suffolk Construction for an additional 3 years.
Matthew Grosshandler is a co-founder and VP Operations of Bald Hill Builders. Matt has more than 20 years of combined residential and commercial building experience, working for such companies as Suffolk Construction, Shawmut Design and Construction and BBL Construction Services. Matt began learning the trades and his business acumen from his father by working for the family business, Jo-Lyn Kitchens, while in high school and in college.
Jessica Morrissey is the Operations Manager and Lead Estimator at Bald Hill Builders. Jess has 10 years of combined residential and commercial building experience. Prior to joining BHB, she worked for Suffolk Construction and Toll Brothers, Inc. Jess wears many hats within the BHB organization, and she works very closely with senior management assisting in all aspects of the company’s operational workflow. Jess is the central conduit between the President and VP of Operations and rest of company on information flow and is also the lead cost estimator, supervising costing reviews during the bid process.
Steve Groves is a General Superintendent for Bald Hill Builders and has over 32 years of industry experience, working for some of the largest companies in the Boston Area. Steve is responsible for overseeing, managing and documenting all day-to-day job site activities, particularly OSHA safety compliance, and ensuring that projects exceed all client’s expectations. Steve establishes and implements the project baseline schedule based on the negotiated contracts, taking into account any elements that might impact the progress of work. Steve maintains this schedule throughout the project life-cycle by identifying and solving issues before construction timelines are affected. He also ensures that work performed is consistent with the contracted scope-of-work.
